Instagram Has Brought Walkie-Talkie Style Direct Voice Messaging Feature

Instagram Has Brought Walkie-Talkie Style Direct Voice Messaging Feature | Instagram, the most popular photo sharing platform owned by Facebook has now added a new feature called “Direct Voice messages” in Walkie-Talkie style.

Its sister messaging platform Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp are already giving this feature.

So, how can Instagram be left behind in the race?

On Monday , Instagram tweet about the new feature “To send direct voice messages in Instagram is now rolling out globally”.

In the tweet, Instagram wrote, “Starting today, you can send voice messages in Direct, Talk the way you want to be heard, whether by whispering what you’re up to or shouting a compliment.”

To enjoy this feature you have to update your Instagram. If you have done it already then you are ready to rock.

This feature doesn’t work like the traditional voice messaging platforms where you need to tap on the send button to send your voice message to the recipient.

As I said before this new feature of Instagram is like Walkie-Talkie style, so it doesn’t follow the old tradition.

You just need to press and hold the microphone button in the text box and say what you have to say.

When you complete, release the button and the voice message will send immediately to the recipient.

There is no limitation whether you can choose one of your Instagram user or multiple users to send voice message at a time.

But you can record a voice message only up to one-minute long.

If you spoke something wrong or something weird, which you think may spoil your relation with the recipient then you can simply drag your finger to the leftmost corner to the trash.

But be careful once you take your finger out off the microphone button, there is no way to stop the voice message from sending.

Whenever you receive a voice message on Instagram you can listen to it on your device’s main speaker just by click on the play button.

This new feature of Instagram is now rolling out for both Android and iOS users. It could make Instagram more attractive chat app for its users.
